While we have seen many yacht and residential interior projects that Genesis has designed and built come to fruition over the 25 years that we have been in business, the World Debut of the Scout 530 LXF marked the first time our work has been unveiled at a major press conference. On Thursday, February 14 – opening day of the Miami International Boat Show – boating writers and photographers crowded the Scout Boats in-water display to watch company Founder and President Steve Potts launch the 530 LXF – the Scout brand’s biggest boat ever.
Full of innovations like hydraulic bulwarks that fold down to expand the cockpit into a 17’10”-wide “beach deck”, the 530 LXF is also a performance boat powered by up to six outboards.
“There’s not another boat like it in this size range,” Potts said. “You can put it in 30 inches of water.”
During the press conference, he said when Scout was developing the plans for the 530 LXF, he challenged his team to create a “five-star, five-diamond” yacht. Admitting that designing and building fine yacht interiors was an area in which Scout Boats did not have the necessary experience, he invited Genesis Interiors to collaborate on the project. The result is a spacious cruising interior that features an elegant salon with convertible settee/berth, well-equipped galley (complete with wine cellar), large head with separateshower, and private master stateroom.
In an early review of the new boat,Boatingmagazine raved: “While there are many who will use this boat as a yacht tender and day-tripper, those considering it for a big-water boat should have no qualms about heading offshore for some serious angling or crossing to the Bahamas. Design and construction are state-of-the-art.”
Potts acknowledged Genesis Interiors Founder Roberto Lottini and Designer Alice Beldramme from the podium for their contribution to the 530 LXF. “They did a phenomenal job. You won’t find another interior that is as well-thought-out,” he said.
“There are no words to express the joy of seeing the result of our hard work of designing and manufacturing the interior of the Scout 530 floating at the Miami boat show, “Lottini said. “What was even more exhilarating was to see and hear in person the appreciation and compliments of the clients and the people in the boating industry for our work. Last but not least, it was exciting to hear that Scout sold a few of these boats during the show thanks in part to our interior.”
